Common Causes Of Controller Problems
1. Loss Of Electrical Power
A tripped breaker, unplugged transformer, failed outlet, or damaged transformer can leave the controller without power. Without power, the controller cannot communicate with your sprinkler valves.
2. Programming Issues
Incorrect start times, watering days, seasonal adjustments, or accidentally disabled programs are among the most common reasons sprinklers don't run when expected. Sometimes the controller is working exactly as designed—it simply isn't programmed correctly.
3. Faulty Wiring
The controller sends electrical signals to each sprinkler valve through low-voltage wiring. If the wiring becomes damaged, corroded, or disconnected, the controller may appear to malfunction even though it's sending the correct signal.
4. Rain Or Freeze Sensor
A rain or freeze sensor is designed to temporarily stop watering during wet or freezing conditions. If the sensor fails or remains activated, the controller may prevent the system from running.
5. Controller Failure
